Stewart Copeland Tucson Concert reviews
Almost great
I'm a big Charmer fan and I very much enjoyed the show - even though they opened with what is hands down my favorite tune of theirs, Stewart Copeland.
It was a strong presentation that played very well and without much break between tunes. The highlights for me would have be Temple, Back Down South, Pyro and Cold Desert. Closer remains a far better live than studio track.
The band lacks that engaging front man that really takes a live show to the top level. So, why not great? Caleb Followill has a great voice and definite charisma on stage but fails to really connect with the audience. Still, the music is the real front man and on that score they cut across pretty much all phases of their work so far.
I would definitely see them again, but my expectations would be lowered somewhat for that truly immersive arena rock experience.
